The Kent & East Sussex Railway is one of the UK’s most loved heritage railways, located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the cleanliness and presentation of our carriages and public areas, making a positive impact on our visitors' experience. We are famed for our warm & friendly staff, so you’ll be an ambassador for the K&ESR in all that you do. The role is based at Tenterden Town Station (TN30 6HE) and the successful applicants must have the flexibility to work on any day, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Key Details:

• Position: Cleaner
• Location: Tenterden, Kent
• Working Hours: 20 hours per week, spread over 4 or 5 days (must include weekends)
• Flexibility: Early morning shifts (start and finish by 10.00 am) or evening shifts (from 6.00 pm)
• Rate of Pay: Above living wage
• Contract Type: Permanent

Responsibilities:

As a Cleaner at the Kent & East Sussex Railway, your primary responsibility will be maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of our carriages and public areas. Your tasks will include:

• Working with pride to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout, including seating areas, toilets, windows, floors, ceilings, furnishings, fixtures & fittings.
• Carrying out routine & periodic deep cleaning, such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing and sanitising surfaces.
• Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of public areas, such as station buildings, seating areas and toilets.
• Adhering to health and safety guidelines and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and visitors.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, we are seeking an individual who possess the following attributes:

• Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred, although training will be provided.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards of cleanliness.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work equally well independently and as part of a team.
• The flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing schedules.
