At the station

Originally erected in 1922, this building was formerly the “Maidstone & District Motor Services” waiting room at Palace Avenue, Maidstone and is reputed to have been Britain’s first purpose built bus station. Today, its Art Deco interior is a pleasant place to enjoy a local ale or some light refreshments – there’s always something great to enjoy!

The Station Refreshment Rooms are accessible to wheelchair users and normally open between 10am and 4.30pm when train services operate. Please note that dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not permitted in the Station Refreshment Rooms.
