The Kent & East Sussex Railway is one of the UK’s most loved heritage railways, located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are now seeking a small team of catering assistants to help us deliver our popular dining services. The positions are based at Tenterden Town Station and the successful applicants will undertake a variety of catering duties including serving customers in our station outlets and on-board our trains, and food preparation. You must be able to work quickly and consistently under pressure, yet always with pride; ideally you will have experience of commercial catering, however enthusiasm and a willingness to work hard is all that’s required as full training can be provided.

• Able to deliver excellent and consistent levels of customer service
• Good communication skills and a positive disposition are essential
• Able to work on own initiative or as directed
• Must be able to work alone or as part of a small team
• Must have consistently high standards of presentation
• Must be punctual and reliable at all times

Candidates should be flexible and able to work shifts any day of the week. This position may require lone working.

A zero hours contract will be offered, hours of work will be up to 37.5 hours per week. These are seasonal positions. Rate of pay exceeds National Living/minimum Wage for age. Applicants for this position must have the right to work in the UK.
