Give Mum the gift of time travel this Mothers’ Day!

Travel in style aboard our special Mothers’ Day steam trains for a journey the entire family will enjoy!  Choose from a Ploughman’s Lunch or a Cream Tea served at your seat in the comfort of our historic carriages.  Your train will meander through the beautiful Rother Valley from the historic Market town of Tenterden to the pretty country station at Bodiam, returning you to Tenterden on the same train, after a short stop for comfort.

Choose from a Ploughman’s Lunch to enjoy aboard the 12:30pm departure or a Cream Tea aboard the 3:30pm departure – both from Tenterden Town Station, where there is free customer parking and accessible facilities*.  Your seats will be reserved and our friendly team will serve your family prebooked food, accompanied by tea or coffee, during the journey.

Family tickets for travel are available to purchase online for just £49 for a family of 3 or £53 for a family of 4.  To make it an experience that the extended family can enjoy, online fares for additional passengers are £20.00 per Adult and £13.50 per Child (3-15 years) for travel.

If travelling on the 12:30pm departure, you can choose to add a Ploughman’s Lunch for £8.50 per person, or a children’s Munch Bag for just £4.95.  For those wishing to travel aboard the 3:30pm departure and indulge in a Cream Tea at £8.50 per person, with Munch Bags for children again, also available.

Why not make the occasion extra special and add a bottle of Prosecco or travel First Class in our beautiful 1930s open plan carriages?

For those booking refreshments to enjoy on board, there is a beautiful gift for Mum for just £6.95 which we’ll present at the end of the journey.

For those of you who wish to travel and enjoy the magic of steam, without the added luxury of our team attending you with refreshments, there are limited seats available to prebook via the links below.

The model railway at Tenterden will be open for the family to enjoy during your visit.  Our station refreshment rooms will be open serving drinks and light refreshments that can be taken on the train.  The Colonel Stephens Railway Museum will reopen to the public in April 2022.

*Accessible seats are available aboard for these services aboard our specially adapted coach “Petros” when prebooked.  If you require ramp access and wheelchair accessible seating, please give our friendly team a call Tuesday-Thursday 9:30-2:30 on 01580 765155 or email enquiry@kesr.org.uk and we will be in touch soon!
