We were pleased to welcome a local group of young budding engineers, 'Involve Kent', for a special "Junior Engineering Experience" on Saturday with Chris Vine, the author of the Peter's Railway books. These hugely popular experiences enable young people to gain an understanding of science and engineering concepts - pressure, weight, mass. Their day included a ride along the line and visits to our workshops, giving the group the opportunity to learn about the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep a railway running. The K&ESR is a registered educational charity - and we are always delighted to fulfil this objective.
