Bus Rally at Tenterden Station

Sunday 15th August 2021

Tenterden Town Station will be the setting for a rally featuring more than a dozen vintage buses with some offering free rides to a number of local destinations on this date.  This includes a service to connect with trains from both Headcorn and Ashford train stations, please see below for more details. Stallholders will also be present for the day selling a selection of vintage memorabilia.

Buses to and from Headcorn station 

  • Hourly from Headcorn to Tenterden from 09.53 am until 16.53 pm.
  • Return from Tenterden to Headcorn, hourly from 10.08 am until 17.08 pm.

Buses to and from Ashford station (domestic entrance)

  • 09:20 am, returning from Tenterden at 16:30 pm.

Please note, whilst the organisers will try and run the above services, it will depend on vehicle availability, resulting in no guarantee of timings. This is a limited bus running service for the event only. These services are operated by historic vehicles which may not be able to cater for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The Station opens at 10am and the first steam train departs for Bodiam at 10.40am. The station refreshment kiosk will be open throughout the day offering light refreshments, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.

The station site is home to the original Maidstone and District Omnibus Station building from Mill Street Maidstone, that was dismantled in the 1970s and relocated to the Railway in 1984.
