Bus Rally at Tenterden Town Station

Sunday 15th August 2021

Tenterden Town Station will be the setting for a rally featuring more than a dozen vintage buses, with some offering free rides to a number of local destinations!  This includes a service to connect with trains from both Headcorn and Ashford railway stations – see below for more details. Stallholders will also be present selling a selection of vintage memorabilia.

Buses to and from Headcorn station 

  • Hourly from Headcorn to Tenterden from 09.53 am until 16.53 pm.
  • Return from Tenterden to Headcorn, hourly from 10.08 am until 17.08 pm.

Buses to and from Ashford station (domestic entrance)

  • 09:20 am, returning from Tenterden at 16:30 pm.

Please note: whilst every effort will be made to operate the above services, vehicle availability may result in delays or cancellations & therefore we are unable to guarantee timings. Services are operated by historic vehicles which may not be able to cater for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The Station opens at 10am and the first train, hauled by on loan ‘Teddy Bear’ Class 14 diesel locomotive D9526 departs for Bodiam at 10.40am. The station refreshment kiosk will be open throughout the day offering light refreshments, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.

Tenterden Town Station is home to the original Maidstone & District Omnibus Station building from Mill Street Maidstone, that was dismantled in the 1970s and re-erected in 1984.
