Meet the Fat Controller and make your Day Out With Thomas an enchanting experience, full of entertainment the whole family can enjoy. He opens the gates at 10.00am sharp so make sure you get to the station early to enjoy the whole day.

Things to make your day more enjoyable

  • We operate a No Smoking policy during a Day Out With Thomas event. We appreciate the cooperation of all visitors.
  • DOGS with the exception of Assitance Dogs are not allowed on the station.
  • We operate a FREE staffed 'Buggy Park' where you can leave your buggy in a covered secure area for the duration of the train ride or for as long you like!

By car – FREE parking TN30 6HE
We are less than an hour by car from the M25. Tenterden is on the A28 between Ashford and Hastings and has a car park, which is free all day for our passengers. In the event of our car park at Tenterden being full, pay and display car parks are available nearby.

Train services from London and the South East connect with bus routes to Tenterden from Rye, Hastings, Maidstone and Ashford. The nearest station to Tenterden is Headcorn.

Accessibility

Our facilities have been carefully designed with the elderly and less mobile visitor in mind.
An accessible toilet can be found at Tenterden Station.

We are proud to boast a specially designed coach for visitors with mobility conditions and wheelchair users called ‘Petros’ which is fitted with ramped access, wide aisles, an accessible toilet and moveable seating. There is full wheelchair access to the Gift Shop and Refreshment Roons at Tenterden Town, and the Colonel Stephens Railway Museum has level access with 42” aisles.

The Tenterden ticket office is fitted with an induction loop.
