We’re turning back the clock to the 1940s for a not-to-be missed weekend of pure nostalgia!

So much to see and enjoy along the line the whole weekend.

The iconic plane of the decade – the Spitfire ‘Spirit of Kent’ based at Biggin Hill Heritage Hanger will wow you with its display both days.

Identity cards will be provided free of charge to all visitors, keep them safe or risk being arrested as a spy! Keep an eye out for Viv the Spiv – stockings, chocolate and all things blackmarket!

Keep an eye on the Fokkers with an RAF station operations room – see how the plotting table would have been operated during the Battle Britain. Talk to the ARP Air Raid Precaution teams for an insight into life on the home front. Vintage military and civilian vehicles and re-enactors add to the atmosphere.

Stalls including 40s clothes, accessories, hairstyling and Trevor the Barber – no excuses not to look the part!

AT BODIAM

 

Not one, but two fabulous 40s singers provide live music at Bodiam:

Pete Wayre and Miss Holiday Swing

The Land Army is taking over Bodiam with displays, activities – your chance to learn how to milk a cow yes, really!

The Desert Rats will also set up camp displaying authentic kit and weapons, and a variety of jeeps

Vintage Allsorts provide refreshments in true 40s style with their 40s tearoom

Take advantage of a free heritage bus service between Bodiam Station and Bodiam Castle

Enjoy an intensive train service with departures every 45 minutes!

For those not wishing to travel Platform Tickets are available for £5 per adult and £2.50 per child per day.

The steam hauled service marked departs Tenterden at 10.45, 1.00 and 3.15. This train includes on-train catering and access for wheelchair users.

The steam hauled service marked B departs Tenterden at 11.30, 1.45 and 4.00. Please note that we unable to accommodate wheelchair users on this train
