The Kent & East Sussex Railway is running an appeal to raise £200,000 to double the capacity of the main carriage maintenance building at Tenterden station. The expansion is needed to provide sufficient high quality trains to operate the current train time table which carries 90,000 passengers annually.

The following information should help you plan and budget your outing.

Please use the fare table and any catering options you would like to calculate the cost per person. A typical example is set out below to help.

Remember to take 10% off the total fare cost.

ON-TRAIN CATERING

Ploughman’s Lunch A traditional Cheddar and ham Ploughman’s served with tea or coffee (fruit tart & cream for an additional £2.50)	£6.45
Children’s Party Boxes Combine the excitement of a steam train trip with a special Birthday tea. Children have individual party boxes packed with food and drink, whilst adults may enjoy a ploughman's lunch or cream tea (see below). It's a real treat for the whole family - because we do all the preparation, as well as the cleaning up!	£3.00
Picnic Hampers Let us prepare a sumptuous hamper for you and your companions, which will be ready for collection when you arrive at Tenterden Station.
£4.50 child, £8.50 adult.
Please note that any of these catering options can be taken on either a return (approx.1¾ hrs) or single journey (45 minutes).

The fares above are for single or return travel between Tenterden & Bodiam ONLY, other fares are available - please enquire for details.

Advance booking is necessary for all group packages. It means that you, the customer has peace of mind in knowing that your booking is made and that we have reserved the seating and the staff are prepared for your visit.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance of payment and final confirmed numbers required ten days prior to the date of travel.

We value the business brought to the Railway by group organisers and coach operators.

A warm welcome also awaits your coach driver at Tenterden Station. He or she qualifies for FREE TRAVEL on the same train as the booked party with refreshments as booked or will be made welcome with refreshments in the Station Refreshment Rooms.
