As a result of feedback from our visitors the suggested most direct route to the K&ESR from the M25 is to join the M26 at junction 5 which after a short time joins the M20 at junction 3 and head south-bound signposted towards the Ashford/Dover direction. Leave the M20 at junction 8 - the Leeds Castle exit and take the B2163 through the village of Leeds and past the entrance to the castle on your left. This rural road soon meets the A274 at a crossroad junction, turn left here and head through the villages of Sutton Valence, Headcorn and Biddenden where the A274 becomes the A262. Where this road meets the A28 turn right towards Tenterden passing through the suburb of St Michaels before entering Tenterden High Street. Once in the High Street continue until you see The Vine public house, turn right here into Station Road and Tenterden Station and our FREE car park is located just over the level crossing.
By Car - Free parking is provided at Tenterden (TN30 6HE) and Northiam (TN31 6QT), both of which are situated on the A28 between Ashford and Hastings making the line easy to reach. If you need to fill up with fuel before you leave home or think you'll need to when you're visiting us check this website for the cheapest fuel prices.
Note: There is no car parking at Bodiam Station - Passengers wishing to visit Bodiam are advised to 'Park'n'Ride' from either Tenterden or Northiam.
Tenterden is about 12 miles southwest of Ashford and the Town Station is just off the beautiful tree-lined High street. From the Channel Ports, North Kent, South East London and Essex, take the M20 to junction 9 (Ashford) and follow the A28 to Tenterden. From Canterbury, Thanet and East Kent, take the A28 through Ashford.
Northiam village is about 12 miles north of Hastings - the station is adjacent to the A28 one-mile north of the village centre. From Rye, take the A268 to Northiam. From West Kent or South London, take the A21 to Flimwell and follow the A268 through Hawkhurst to Northiam.
