Diagram Of The Route

Tenterden Town
The glory of Tenterden is its broad and leafy High Street, charmingly lined by Tudor, Regency and Victorian buildings, and dominated by the town’s magnificent church. A subsidiary Cinque Port (limb of Rye), the sea once came up to its dock at Small Hythe. Tenterden Station, opened in 1903, has a gift shop and licensed refreshment rooms.
Rolvenden
Rolvenden Station is almost two miles from the village it serves, in fact it's nearer to Tenterden! The station is home to our Locomotive Depot for maintenance and restoration. A viewing gallery lets you look over the loco yard.
Wittersham Road
From Rolvenden, the line crosses the sheep-grazed Rother Levels to Wittersham Road Station - the name indicates that it is 3 miles from the village. The Permanent Way Dept, responsible for our track, is based here.
Northiam
The Rother Levels broaden out as the line crosses the Sussex border to reach Northiam. The restored station, one mile from the village, was re-opened in 1990.
Bodiam
On approaching Bodiam Station, the terminus of the line, the track follows the south bank of the River Rother and the ramparts of Bodiam Castle come into view. The medieval moated castle was built in 1385 and given to The National Trust in 1926.
